Garderen... the holiday destination in the Veluwe!
Garderen, surrounded by woods, shifting sands and moorland, was once a farming village and is now a popular holiday destination. The 14th century towers of the Dutch Reformed Church, and the 19th century mill "De Hoop" rise high above the village and once served as beacons for the fishermen on the Zuiderzee. Over the summer the mill hosts lively story tellings.
The Forestry Commission manages large stretches of forest and natural terrain on the Veluwe, such as Speulderbos and Kootwijk. These areas are well worth a visit, on foot, by bicycle or on horseback!
At the end of a long active day, you can return to relax at Hotel De Veluwe in Garderen.
