Historical Delft!
Delft is a city with history and a special relationship with the Royal Family. Stroll through the pedestrianised town with its narrow streets, picturesque canals, charming boutiques and beautiful buildings. Besides strolling through the city and sitting at one of the many terraces, WestCord Hotel Delft would like to share some ideas of museums you can visit. The historic Niewe Kerk (New Church), the last resting place for the royal family is definitely worth a visit. Paintings and other objects in the museum Prinsenhof tell the story of the eighty year war. On 10th July 1584, on the steps of his house, Prince Willem of Orange was assassinated by the Spanish Balthazar Gerards. You will of course be aware of the famous Delft Blue, take a tour of the factory “The Royal Delft” and enjoy the beautiful courtyard full of ceramic ornaments from the last century.
